Dehli, IndiaSomehow I have lost an entire day of my life. I am currently sitting in the Air India lounge in the airport here at 3:50am waiting for a flight to Kathmandu. It has been a long trip so far - 10.5 hours from Vancouver to Frankfurt, 2 hours there, then 8 hours from Frankfurt to Dehli. I still cannot figure out how it is suddenly Monday.
Arriving in India makes it clear just how different this part of the world is. In spite of Air Canada telling us we would have a "smooth connection" we spent two hours in a holding area with our passports and boarding passes confiscated. Eventually, we got through security and the holding process but it was very different than the typical delays one might experience when travelling to the USA. Now, we wait for our final flight to Kathmandu. For reasons unknown to us, the flight is leaving almost three hours later than anticipated but we have boarding cards and it seems like we are on the right track. I'm excited to see the chaos that is Nepal.
